The more than 70 per cent poor households living in rural areas of Mozambique are prone to natural disasters. Flooding, cyclones and droughts mean that farmers can not produce consistantly and be self sustaining in their productivity. With no insurance and farmers crop can be wiped by flooding of cyclone and they will have no money to replant. This effectivily means that the farmers will need help, post disaster to reestablish their crop production.
